1. About This Service
GetWill is an online will-writing service operated by Fifty Six Law Ltd, a law firm authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA No. 8009306).
All wills are drafted and reviewed by qualified solicitors practicing English law to ensure they meet legal requirements for England and Wales.
2. Scope of Service
Our service includes:
- Online questionnaire to capture your wishes
- Review of your submission by an SRA-regulated solicitor
- Drafting of a legally compliant will document
- One round of revisions to your draft will
- Delivery of final will by email and post
- Instructions for proper execution (witnessing) of your will
Our service does NOT include:
- Legal advice on tax planning or complex estate matters
- Drafting of trusts (beyond simple age 18 trusts for children)
- Will storage services (unless separately agreed)
- Registration with the National Will Register (client's responsibility)
- Witnessing services (you must arrange your own witnesses)
3. Eligibility
To use this service, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be of sound mind and not acting under duress
- Be resident in England or Wales
- Have assets primarily located in England and Wales
4. Pricing and Payment
- Simple Will: One person£150
- Mirror Wills: Couple£225
- Complex Will: Deposit (final price after consultation)£150
All prices are inclusive of VAT where applicable. Payment is taken at the time of submission via Stripe. You will receive a receipt by email.
5. Suitability Assessment
After reviewing your submission, we reserve the right to determine that your matter is too complex for our online service. In such cases, we will:
- Contact you within 48 hours to explain why
- Offer a full refund OR upgrade to a consultation-based service
- Provide guidance on next steps
Complex matters may include (but are not limited to):
- Estates worth over £1 million requiring tax planning
- Business succession planning
- Significant foreign assets
- Disabled beneficiaries requiring specialist trusts
- Contentious family situations with high litigation risk
6. Your Responsibilities
You must:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Inform us of any changes before receiving your final will
- Arrange for proper witnessing according to our instructions
- Keep your will in a safe place and inform executors of its location
- Review and update your will when circumstances change
Important: Your will is not legally valid until properly witnessed by two independent witnesses.
7. Our Responsibilities
We will:
- Acknowledge your submission within 24 hours
- Assign an SRA-regulated solicitor to review your case
- Provide a draft will within 48 hours (working days)
- Respond to revision requests within 48 hours
- Deliver your final will by email and first-class post
- Maintain professional indemnity insurance
8. Cancellation and Refunds
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of payment.
However, if we begin work on your will within the 14-day period, you acknowledge that you have requested we commence services early and waive your right to cancellation for work already completed.
Refund policy:
- Full refund if cancelled within 14 days before work commences
- Partial refund (minus cost of work done) if cancelled after work begins
- Full refund if we determine your matter is unsuitable
- No refund once final will has been delivered and accepted
9. Limitation of Liability
We maintain professional indemnity insurance as required by the SRA. Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the service, except where:
- We are found to have been negligent in drafting your will
- Your will is found to be invalid due to our error
- Death or personal injury results from our negligence
We are NOT liable for:
- Invalid wills due to improper witnessing by you
- Consequences of outdated wills you fail to update
- Inheritance disputes arising from family circumstances
- Tax consequences of your choices (unless we provided specific tax advice)
10. Data Protection
We process your personal data in accordance with the UK GDPR and our Privacy Policy.
Your data will be retained for 7 years after completion of your will as required by SRA regulations, after which it will be securely destroyed.

12. Professional Executor Services (Optional)
If you have selected a solicitor at Fifty Six Law to act as professional co-executor:
- This is an optional service indicated in your will
- Executor fees are payable from your estate at the time of administration
- Fee structure will be confirmed separately and agreed before death
- Standard executor fees are typically 1-5% of estate value (as per SRA guidelines)
- You or your family can choose not to use this service at the time of death
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
14. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
